Eric,
I agree with Ross about switching to Negative ground.  It creates no
problems, is transparent ( e.g. out of sight) to any viewer and will give you
flexibility is selecting your tune box.  I believe that one of the reasons
TR's got a bad name during production years was because the US wrenches
didn't understand two things, 1. The TRs were positive ground, creating all
sorts of misdiagnosis, etc. and 2. Skinner Union Carbs which do not operate
on the same principles as standard U.S. fare. creating the same problems.
 Who ever heard of putting OIL into a 1955 Plymouth's carbs. Ya gotta be nuts
right.
