Thanx Odd,for your interesting input, a pity UK insurance isn't and most
probably never will be as cheap as in Sweden, different traffic
density, demography, car crime figures and opportunity to drive our
classics, usually 12 months out of 12 here in UK most probably has a lot to do
with it.
But I suspect the usual 'closed market' of the insurance industry has a lot
to do with it? The long suffering British motorist has to pay markedly more
for most things here, just c/w US prices of fuel, parts etc...
And I won't even mention consumer durables,no TV licence,price of houses,etc
etc...
I don't need to go on,do I?
The grass,is as they say, always greener on the other side!
Just one thing,Odd,I'm curious about how helpful your Swedish insurance
company are should you make a claim? What about agreed value? Do you get back
the full value of your vehicle? Do they try and write off your damaged
treasured Triumph and take it away from you rather than letting you get it
repaired?
How does a claim/speeding ticket etc affect the premium?
Do you get 'free' breakdown cover in Britain and on the Continent? and free
gren cards? At the rates you quote I find it very hard to see how they can
possibly make any profit,it sounds a little too good to be true!
ps.I refuse to divulge details here, but from what I've learnt about FIVA from
my conatct with the FBHVC over the last few years,I remain singularly
unimpressed with anyone connected with that organisation!
Regards
Leon
