Ken,
I don't know if the brake fluid did any harm, but I'll bet you have a
bitch of a time getting a good finish coat without fisheyes etc. At least
I always have. Use plenty of wax/silicone remover etc. to prep. and
expect several paint/clean/sand/paint...scenarios.
