Sounds like you made the right decision -- you may have to "walk away" from
several before you find the right one.
If you track down a TR in a distant locale that you want an opinion on, just
post a request to the list. Most of us aren't in a position to advise you
firmly on this, but we can at least save you a long trip if the car in question
doesn't live up to the owner's description.
It's a sad fact that many sellers look at the car and "see" what they've spent
on it or maybe see it as it was years ago... and thus have unrealistic
expectations. Plus, some seem to think it's worth more just because they own
it!
Anyway, some of the list members should be willing to be your eyes for a first
look at a possible TR purchase.
