>Hi Dave
I am not sure of the CR of the standard PI engine (9.5:1 rings a bell) but
running mine on UK 97 R.O.N. petrol, I often get the feeling it only stops
running because the petrol pump stops! It has a feel similar to my 2000
when
it is going to run on.

My car really shudders when I sut down but that's because the bonnet hinges
are really knackerd and the whole front end of it has about 1/4 inch (6mm)
of play. ;-)

I fogot to mention that the guy who did the head (who does a lot of racing
heads) radiused the sharp corners in the combustion chamber. That and the
lack of time to build up significant carbon deposits may account to my lack
of trouble in that reguard. Let's give it a year or so.

Cheers

Dave
