compression from the stock 7.5:1, assuming the head is still stock.

Questions, now, are:
1. How do I determine if it has previously been shaved?
2. How much do I have removed from the head to bring the compression up
to around 9:1 or 9.5:1?

Rob, Kas Kastner's competition manual is very specific about this. You can
tell the current CR by measuring the height of the head and it will tell
you how much to take off for 10:1. Since I don't have mine here I can't
tell you the specifics until I get home and have a look.

I went to 9.5:1 on my (71) with no running problems on 89 octane gas. If I
had to do again I might consider 10:1. YMMV

Good luck

Dave
