Hugh, I replaced the carbon in the canister with activated charcoal from a
pet store. I have tropical fish and even through it looks good, it absorbs
the "bad stuff". If it is the orginal stuff, it is bad. I siftted it to try
and get as much dust out as I could. The mesh at the bottom I replaced with
a piece of filter from an airclearner. Anything like that will work, it just
is used to stop the dust.
