Even here in lawsuit-happy SoCA, I've never had a shop even comment on my
original rims not being safety rims.
I'd guess most of them don't even know the difference, but I can't imagine
any law that would forbid mounting original tires on original rims. And
many Triumphs along with most other cars of the period were delivered, by
the factory, with tubeless tires on non-safety rims.
If you want safety, go drive a Volvo and leave the interesting cars to the
rest of us !
