Just philosophy:

Two years ago my TR6 developed the jerky clutch pedal action that
felt like a sticky pedal bushing. Advice from the list and other
sites was that the problem was deeper within the whole mechanical
chain, so, here's what I did:

Replaced clutch and pressure plate - fingers had two grooves from
throwout bearing
Sleeved trans snout with brass
Replaced master cylinder
Safety bolted the fork to the shaft
No, didn't replace slave cylinder, found nothing wrong

The clutch action and driving pleasure both improved 500%.

At the moment, I've driven the car 5 - 8,000 miles, and guess what?
It's starting to act the same.

Philosophy -- isn't it amazing that such a simple mechanical
component train should be so troublesome? Old Chevvies and Fords
never had this problem.
