Here are a few situations where you might wish you had a MIG:

Out of position TIG welding is a lot more challenging than doing it
with a MIG torch.  Any  situation where you are repairing something
outdoors in the wind makes TIG tougher than MIG (especially with flux
core wire).  Any situation where time spent per piece is a
consideration is one where MIG might do better than TIG.  Any time
when you can only get one hand near the work or need to hold something
besides the filler rod with the other hand, such as holding the parts
in position.
