  Well I was a fairly decent OA welder so I was already familiar with 
torch and filler rod welding, TIG is more or less the same, a torch 
and filler rod.  That and a brother-in-law who welds for a living 
spent 2 Saturdays with me welding way too many coupons as practice.

  I still call him for critical welds on things like my car frame or 
motor mounts, I tack it and call him to finish the job and I make 
sure a few beers are ready to go when he gets here.  My welds look 
good and I do all the welding myself except for critical strengths 
things, I call in the pro.
