Isn't this fun?  This is what you call Triumph tradition! You'll get a 
slew of answers about this, and this list has a long history of 
discussion on the topic of hood releases failing and being fixed. In the 
auto fanantics world, this is called "character" and "charm" of your 
favorite make. Welcome to the club!
