but it sounds like that's what Bill did.
but it poses the question:
if bill did go from steel wheels to wire wheels, how did you deal with the
stud 
issue?
2 choices
1 cut them or replace them
2 use wheel spacer

That only works going the other
way.  Steel to wires.  Your product would only 
exacerbate an already
dangerous situation as in preventing the lug nuts from a 
full "grasp" of the
studs
