Sounds like all you have is a bad ballast resistor. The way all that works, when the key is in "Start" there should be power to both the resistor and the bypass, allowing the coil to see 12 volts. T

On my 57 I6 235, the pump should be turned clockwise when looking down at the pump. This is a gear pump. Turning backwards won't hurt anything but won't pump any oil either. Just for reference, my b
