- My guess would be the contacts inside the flasher relay (box mounted on the inside of the LF inner fender). Try disconnecting the green/white wire from terminal 6 on this relay, and put 12v on this w

- Ned, as Dave says, there is a retaining tab. Don't know what model you are working on, but on BN7/BT7 cars, the "tab" is actually 2 very tiny tabs, one on each leg of the bottom "U". Very hard to see
