I would double check and make sure the rings are right. When I was in high school (31 years ago) I was rebuilding a 327 and was given 283 rings by mistake. It took me quite a while to figure out what

justin, take one of the rings and put it in the cyl bore and take a piston turn it upside down and make sure it is square in the bore . It should fit with a small amount of clerence on the ends of th
