Does anyone use DOT 5 (silicon) brake fluid? If so, have you had any problems with it? The Master Power Brakes vendor describes it in very negative terms - even says its use will void their warranty.

DOT 5 brake fluid is silicone based and is not compatible to use with or in DOT 3 systems. I've read that it will deteriorate the seals in a sytem not designed for it's use. I've worked on both DOT 3

Agreed that Dot3 eats paint and Dot5 doesn't. The problem is that Dot5 is advertised based on non water absorbancy but water still gets in the brake system and just collects in pools instead of thru
