Thanks for your help, Iam still a little confused though. I have been told by a couple people that the VIN Number is 9 digits. Mine is 8. Everything points it to be a 1949 3100, except the last digit

Smokey and Brad, AHCA just means it was originally delivered with a 216 motor, which must have been a little unusual for a bigger truck.

In other words, you truck may have been titled on the engine rather than the cab serial number, apparently a common practice in some states. Are you still running the engine with that serial number?

Shane, et. al, I can take this one step further. On my '49, my VIN starts with GBAxxxxxx, rather than the GPAxxxxxx it should. THat is also how it is reflected on my title. Not sure how this occurred

When we were looking at the 54 we just got, the vin number did not match, nor did it match the engine number. The way the title, for NC at least, was written up you could tell it was a cab vin. What
