I found that after removing the carpet, seats and all the screws, I still had to disconnect the hand break cable in the rear so that the handle would move far enough back to allow the tunnel cover to

Hold on...I didn't suggest removing the break handle, only disconnecting the cable to allow the handle to move enough to facilitate removal of the tunnel cover. It just made it a lot easier in my cas
