The Crane system does not use the lobes to trip the electronic pulses to fire the plugs. Rather, it uses an optical trigger employing an emitter, sensor and a plastic shutter. The shutter fits over

I believe the lobes, although somewhat worn, should be sufficient to anchor this "shutter". What about the shaft itself? Could wear in the shaft be enough to displace the light beam from the sensor
