A method which has worked for me is to thread a #8 or #10 self-tapping screw into either side of the seal, them carefully lever it out. Not trivial, but the method works. And sure beats pulling the d

In addition to prying them out with the screws, I've had great sucess using a screw like that but put a small slide hammer on it and it just taps right out. Michael

I get the parking brake on as tightly as I can, and then put a large pipe wrench on the flange. That immobilizes the flange, and therefore, the pinion. With the rear on jack stands, the car can't go

It's not too hard. Rip it out with a hefty screw driver. You might seal the washer to the input flange too. Carl '63 TR4 since '74 -- My differential is covered with amazing amounts of oil and muck
