For the past few years my starter has been acting strange. Sometimes it crnaks nice but then it started to stall when the motor has been driven for awhile and it got alittle hot. One of the things t

Is your battery good? Cables are clean? Have good grounds? Shear/crush some teeth on the flywheel? BTW, do you start it with the clutch depressed? I read that it is a good idea and makes it easier t

It sounds like a problem I had with the Z. (God forbid) leaky head gasket and water in one cylinder. But if it runs well and you are not putting water in it this is probably not the reason. Let it co

I had a similar problem with an old Mustang that I drove. It was the timing being too far advanced that caused the symptoms that you describe. Sid ___________________________________________________

I know this sounds like a dumb reply, But you didn't mention replacing the battery. I had the same problem a week ago when reviving my roadster to life, I used jumper cables, but had those symptoms,

This concept seems to have more lives than a cheap politician. I don't know where or how it got started for sure but I think it has to do with some of the older cars and trucks that used heavy gear o

Sounds like one cyl. has higher compression than the others, or there is some mechanical binding. Take out the spark plugs and pull the engine over by hand. See if there are any parts of the rotation

Heres a very unlikey suggestion, but i guess it could happen- leaky valve stem seals on one cylinder filling it with oil overnight or over time, giving it extra high compression due to the oil sealin

Another [perhaps remote] possibility is a broken or badly worn tooth on the ring-gear (flywheel). Most of the time engine inertia will allow a jump over one bad tooth, but if its on the end of a com

The ring gear is replaceable (unless the engine is different from every automotive engine I've ever seen, including other Nissan engines). If it is a bad ring gear, pull engine/tranny, remove flywhee

Can you draw a diagram of that inspection process? I'm trying to picture how you do that (without busting up laughing). 1) hood open, lay cross-wise over the engine bay and hang over the left fender
