There is supposed to be a return spring on the pedal mechanism. It is mounted on the driver's side of the pedal to the pedal bracket. Make sure it is there and consider replacing it. Also check the b

FWIW, Chris, my clutch/brake mechanism was frozen solid when I removed it from my project car. If you're not finding the problem elsewhere, it might be worth your while to pull the assembly and rebus
