Hey Gene,
My windshield was replaced last year. The installer was a pretty cool
guy & let me help him. There was no sealer of any kind used. The entire
job took a little over an hour & came out perfect.
I do recommend when the chrome trim spreader is installed cut it long or
even let it over lap for a while before trimming. It has a habit of
shrinking & then the finishing cover doesn't reach both ends. If it does
eventually shrink you can always use two finishing caps.
