You can generally find a used Type R(98) for around 22-23K. They have
remarkable resale values. In fact, a friend of mine saw one(I think it was
even new) on a dealer lot in Boulder just a few weeks ago. So, the point
being, they ARE available to someone that is truly interested in finding
one. As far as being expensive, they are only a little more than a standard
GS-R. The '98 Integra GS-R had an MSRP of 21.3K, the '98 Type R had an MSRP
of 23.5K. So I think that the issue is, why does an Integra cost so much?
And, since I own both the Type R and the ACR, the build quality of the Type
R is SOOOOO much better, the price difference seems reasonable.

Yes, and in addition to that, where do you find them, and at what price?
My guess is that you could buy 2 99 ACR's for the price of one Type R.
What makes them so expensive? All those things Scott mentioned....They
were practically hand built for racing...
