When I took the Phase 1 class this spring, I did so on an almost gone set of
Toyos. They had maybe as much tread as yours in the center of the tread
face but the shoulders had less meat left on them. At the Phase 1 class the
driver's front tire (on a FWD car anyway) will take the most abuse.

My driver's front tire started to show cords on the outside shoulder right
before lunch with about 15-20 runs on VERY abrasive (but sticky) old runway
concrete.

I brought spare tires (more old, hard Toyos) with me and just swapped tires
right before lunch.

I'd guess that if you keep a close eye on the tires and just periodically
rotate them throughout the day that they oughtt to survive the class without
blowing out on you.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Run higher pressure to keep the tires from rolling
over onto the shoulders so badly. At least 40 psi and probably closer to 45
psi.

See you on course.
