There's definitely a high demand for concrete surfaces, and in many ways Peru is
a much better site than Topeka or anywhere else I can think of right now. It can
be bumpy though. We had a BFG CenDiv event there a month ago and they had to
limit entries on that event too ( i think it was 250), and we only got three
runs. It kind of sucks to have such a large turnout for a regional event. And
the Pro there was sold out too. In short, if you're going to Peru for an event
enter early.
I think that the requirement to run some other event before nationals causes
some of this and frankly, I would like to see that requirement done away with.
It's not like there is any ranking in Solo 2 or that an entrant gains any
knowledge in running these qualifier events. so what's the point? Seems they are
just to prop up the National Tour series, which at present doesn't need it.
