John, I can't imagine driving with 455 hp under the hood for normal driving.
My love for the Rover engine swap is that the 300 lb saving would all be off
the front wheels which would make much better balanced car with
significantly better road manners, particularly in corners. Even greater
improvement would be achieved with the Rover rear end which is coil springs
,trailing links and Watts linkage stabliser. The standard Rover SD1 has a
stated max speed of 165kph(100mph) in 3rd gear with a rear end ratio almost
identical to the Bricklin.
However, what I would like to know has anyone replaced the rear suspension
upper links with a stabiliser bar? If so I would be interested in how it was
done.
