Greg,

You might want to think about pulling the body off the car.  Check the "A" 
and "B" pillars.  The lower 2 inches or so of my drivers "A" pillar was gone  
due to rust, not to mention the body mounting hole that's supposed to be
say 1" was about 5" or non existant.
