As an Englishman (first prize in the lottery of birth don't you know) I would
have to disagree with some of these

>
> 1. BSW stands for/ BRITISH STANDARD WENTWORTH
> 2. MG stands for/ MORRIS GARAGE
> 3. SU stands for/ SKINNERS UNION
> 4. What is a "Dumpy Screwdriver"?/ A SHORT SCREW DRIVER
> 5. British for gasoline/ PETROL
> 6. British for wrist pin/ GUDGEON
> 7. British for seatback/ SQUAB
Are you sure ? I have always thought that the squab was the bit you sat on ?
> 8. British for hood/ BONNET
> 9. British fender/ WING
> 10. British shock absorber/ DAMPER
> 11. British wrench/ SPANNER
> 12. British choke/ STRANGLER
If you mean the device which enriches the mixture at startup when the engines
cold then it is also known as a choke in England. However to choke someone is
the same as to strangle someone !
> 13. What is a "knave key"?/ TYPE OF WHEEL WRENCH
> 14. MPH in England/ KPH (NOW - WAS MPH EARLIER)
Still is MPH - all speed signs are in MPH and all distances given are in
miles.
> 15. Front of a car/ NOSE
> 16. British driveshaft/ PROPELLER
Propshaft or I suppose propeller shaft
> 17. British generator/ DYNAMO
> 18. British trunk/ BOOT
> 19. P.I. stands for?/ PETROL INJECTION
> 20. CD on a Stromberg means?/ CONSTANT DEPRESSION
> 21. What does "Prise" mean?/ PRY
> 22. What is a crownwheel?/ A LARGE GEAR DRIVEN BY A SMALLER GEAR
>(DIFFERENTIAL)
> 23. A.C. in AC Cobra/ AUTO CARRIER
> 24. What is a "chubby box"?/ GLOVE BOX
> 25. D.B. in Austin Martin/ DAVID BROWN
Aston - great typo ! Unless this is the rare 1932 special built
by Herbert Austin for his friend Bert Martin in which case the D.B. stood for
Dull and Bland or maybe even dogs bollocks :-)

I hardly got any of the answers as I didnt know what the American meant for
several questions !

The Caterham HPC has a power to weight of about 4.4 lbs/hp with 0-60 in 4.8ish
depending on how long you want your tyres and clutch to last :-)
