Daniel,

If you want to just add 4 more relays, and use the existing wiring harness
to control them, this is fine. First of all I must mention that the following
wiring is based on the earlier cars that switched the power to the headlights,
rather than switching the ground leads as later cars did.

These instructions need to be followed 4 times, once for each hich and low beam.
(If you wanted to add a couple more wires, you could do this mod with 2 relays,
one
for the high beams and one for the low.)

Run the wire that went to the high or low beam connection on the headlight
to one of the coil connections on the relay. Ground the other coil connection.
Run a wire with a fuse from one of the contacts on the relay to the battery
Pos. terminal, or starter (do not go to the fuse box with this lead).
Run another wire from the other relay contact to the headlight connection that
used to have the harness wire on it that now goes to this relay coil.
Try the mod to see that it works correctly. If it does, go ahead and add the
other
relays. If not, recheck your connections.

The above insturctions are based on the use of a Single Pole, Single Throw,
Normally
open Relay. It has only 2 contacts in it (although I have seen some of these
that
had more than 2 connections on it). If you can only find relays with 3
contact,
and the headlight doesn't come on when it should, move the power lead to the
third
contact. If the headlight comes on, but coms on with the headlight switch off
and
when the other beam is on, but goes off when it should be on, move the wire
that goes
to the light to the third contact.

For relays I prefer to use Bosch relays. They are about 1" cubes, with a
mounting
tab. They are usually rated at 30A, or higher, so one relay could take care of
both high or low beams.

Hope this helps more than it confuses.

Peace,
Pat
