Hi Daniel,
A hammer drill would help but you should be able to get through a stone with 
what
your using. I would check the drill sharpness at this point. If it's dull, you 
need a
carbide wheel (green) for sharpening. Also, carbide should be allowed to cool 
before
you start drilling again. Go in short bursts if trying to go through a stone.
