Yep, been there, done that. When I installed the suspension bits I got 
from Brock after we got to Hawaii in early '73, I also moved the battery 
to the trunk using a (Rubbermaid type) marine battery box. First 
autocross I lay it into the first hard corner and the nylon strap holding 
it down comes loose and of course the battery starts bouncing all over 
the trunk, putting large dents in the rear quarters and spraying acid all 
over the place. Not pretty at all.

Yes it was a heck of a mess, and yes I installed a hold down strap with a 
much more positive cinching mechanism. Remember what someone recently 
stated about those who've been around longest have just had more chances 
to make mistakes, from which we've hopefully learned how to avoid making 
the mistakes again. All I have to say is amen!
