Also, according to the holy Rising Sun treatise, the 1600 is a total of 10 
inches long x 3 inches diameter, the 2000 is 9 1/2 inches long x 3 1/2 inches 
dia.

The solenoid casing on the starter hub is round on the 1600s with 2 hex-head 
screws for attachment of the solenoid, and a more elaborate casting with 3 
Phillips head screws for the 2000.  The 1600's was made by Hitachi, and the 
2000's by Mitsubishi.

There.  More than you want to know.
