I believe I have no-name 185x65-14 retreads on my stock rims (not home right
now). IIRC, Discount Tire told me 185x60 would be the largest tire I could
fit on those rims.

There are 175/70R-14s available from a few manufacturers.

There is an interplay between the size (175, 185, etc.) and the aspect
ratio, 60, 65, 70. A 175 60 would be very small, but I haven't seen one, I
think a 185/65 and a 175/70 are very close in circumference, but the 175 is
narrower.

Here's a link from the Wheels FAQ on 311s.org:

Is there a link to a chart for tire / wheel combinations? I checked the

archives but the discussions made my eyes glaze over.... I tried though

because I know this is asked frequently.

I have stock rims (I'm pretty sure) and want tires to fit for "unspirited

driving", contrary to most of you :-) . I have 185 14 tires on the car now

but they seem to have a close tolerance to the fenders.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks, Linda 68 1600
