I appreciate the response, Hardy. Kas also mentioned the test bar. Maybe I
will try to have one made. I recently bought a dial bore gage from Jeags,
but the dial part of the gage (in my opinion) is not very good. I
fortunately have another old dial that fits right on the stem, and has better
increments. As you said, I may be placing too much importance on this issue.
