exhaust size

Amici     I was looking for a informed view on what size and number of 
exhaust pipes to run on a c/p tr6 i was planning duals but was told that a 
single 21/2 inch is better i thought the factory went to the duals because 
they were a better set up i have heard others say a single is better any 
suggestions would be helpful thanks Rick Junkermeier
