Ah, repeatability. I don't think you can use "repeatable" as a modifier for
anything you can do with a boring bar. I used to bore lots of motorcycle
cylinders--it was something mechanics were expected to do back in the 70's.
Every shop I worked in had at least one boring bar and often a Sunnen
horizontal hone. I could never get the bars adjusted to not have some
taper--as the bar extends down the bore a lot more bar gets on the wobbly
side of the bushing. Single point cutter and a long bar equals tapered hole.
I finally decided that was fine as long as I was boring them from the top. 

When I was doing something I really cared about, I'd bore to size, and hone
for the clearance. I'd hone the bore from the bottom first to just under
full clearance, and finish the last .0005 from the top down. Still had some
taper, but not much. 

I doubt that you want to do that--it was a lot of work.
