 To physically test the action of the clutch, you can set them up on a flyw=
heel sitting on a chassis scale pad, in a press, and measure the load as yo=
u pump it up.When it gets to the release point the pressure will be max and=
 then drop off quickly as the plate overcenters.(You can slip a feeler gaug=
e in there to tell the exact release point.)
The thickness of the disc directly affects the geometry that the PP has to =
work within by design.If the disc is too thin, there will be weak clamping =
force and it'll slip, and it will take a "long" pedal to release.If too thi=
ck, the release will be too high and it will probably slip under load.Gener=
ally if I use a thicker disc, I shim the difference between it and a stock =

ew clutch disc. As I tightened the PP the fingers ended up pretty much flat=
 across, no longer peaked. So when the hydraulics is engaged the throw out =
will press the clutch fingers deflecting inward (invert from when on the be=
