Gary,

I suspect you will be required to get new plates. 

In late 1964 I was transferred from SF to Seattle, supposedly for a long 
time, but, business did not turn out as was expected, and within seven months I 
was transferred back to SF. I appealed to have my (yellow on black) BOM483 
reactivated, but was refused, and forced to take SGS242, which the car still 
has, 
40 years later.
