Scott, the problem is definitely not the brand, but it could easily be
the heat range of the plugs you're using.  This thread jogged my memory
of a problem I had with my BJ8 when it was a new car.  After about a
week of in-town driving (in Dallas), the car would start running like
crap, cutting out above a fairly modest rpm while accelerating.
Replacing the plugs would fix it.

One day after a high speed run, the problem had gone away.  I blush to
admit that it took so long for the mental light to go on -- it was
simply that the plugs were too cold for city driving, and were getting
carboned up.

Don't know if that's related to your problem, Scott, but I hope it will
be helpful to someone here.
