I just had the pleasure of driving my brother-in-law's '30 Chevy, with among
other features, has mechanical brakes, he talked about how before his dad
let him drive it he was told for an extensive period of time about the
mechanical brakes and other differences between that and a modern car, I had
the same sort of talk with my wife before I let her drive my 100, which had
older bias plys on it at the time.
"Driving it like a motorcycle" is good advice. Being able to anticipate, to
the greatest extent possible, based on careful observation and not react
based on sudden surprise, sure helps in keeping our cars and ourselves safe
and sound.
