Hi Lee, I just took an inexpensive open end wrench (1/2" on one end and
7/16" or 9/16" on the other - it wouldn't matter) and put in my vise and
hacksawed it off. I left only about 1" of shank behind the end. If I
did it all over again, I'd leave about 1.5" of the shank as it's a bit
easier to get hold of the longer shank for my fumbling fingers. Anyway,
I also took it to my grinder to narrow the overall wrench end a bit.
That made it easier to fit in the tight spaces around those reclusive
nuts. Gosh, I love that little wrench....

How about some more description of your 1/" magic wrench? Just what
exactly did you do to the original wrench? How about some dimensions?
I always figured the when they decided to build a Healey 3000, they
started with the bottom carb nuts and built around them. I've never had
the patience to more than lossen mine about .75 degrees!
