As a matter of fact I have a brand new double ended SU for sale , contact m=
e off list if interested, I have to agree Simon it is a very good solution =
as long as you switch them regularly so both sides gets used.

The double ended SU is one solution. I have one. I try to alternate between=
each side every time I use the car. Each half is independently wired and f=
used. Works well enough. Only time it gave me a fright was when I was in Fr=
ance and had to park it on the street overnight. I turned off both halves a=
nd got about 300 yards in the morning before we stopped.

Why do so many people replace an original SU pump that has lasted decades w=
ith an aftermarket pump that requires modifying the fuel lines, adding addi=
tional fittings, clamps & altering the mounting brackets (all additional so=
urces of failures), vibrates continuously, etc, when it would be so much ea=
sier & more original to simply replace it with a new highly reliable SU fue=
l pump? If you are concerned about being stranded at the side of the road, =
carry a spare SU or even better install it in parallel & wire up a selector=
switch so you can switch between the two pumps.
