If the whole weight of the car was sitting on the bottom of the kingpins then 
we would have a bigger friction problem since there is not a supporting 
surface, in the vertical direction, between the kingpin and the stub axle 
assembly. The supporting surface is the thrust washers in the upper trunnion.
