In 2002, when I bought my first T Series, an advertisement appeared in Old
Cars Weekly for a TC for $2,500. The car was complete except for the
headlights and steering wheel, but had to be completely disassembled. As I
worked for the publication at that time, I was bound to a 10-day waiting
period before I could respond to the ad. The car, which was as described,
sold to a man from Madison, Wis. The seller sold it for a neighbor whose
late husbad had never gotten around to the car.
Also, in our Fox Cities British Car Club, there is a young lady who
purchased a disassembled TC just a year or two ago. I believe that she paid
$900 for the complete car, or something in that range.
So the idea of a person selling a TC for $13,000 does not seem like an
obvious scam to me.

As others said; never buy without an inspection, and don't send money to an
unknown stranger and hope the car arrives later. Whomever is that trusting
just has a "scam me" sticker pasted on his forehead.
