Yeah I think so...in my family it seems to be genetic.

Uncle collects LBCs--->I start collecting LBCs--->Mom now is LBC nuts also.
<My dads side>
Grandfather fixed tanks, collected BMWs--->Dad has deep passion for Porsche
+ BMW.
That is about as far back as I can go with out asking everyone in my
family. Now I can see where I got my interest in Porsches from...
