Phil,
I can agree with you that the late-model Bs with emissions equipment
are a bit strangled compared to earlier models.
However, the 75mph top speed is objectionable. My 76 is mostly
de-toxed, and will easily cruise at 70 (~3250rpm in OD) and has
seen 75 more than once. It doesn't take forever to get there, and
it rarely gets left at a stop light.
Still dual SUs look cooler (like those on my dead Midgets) and my
car will probably see a carb swap in the not-too distant future.
