Not so fast there quickdraw.  My '78 MGB only has one hole for a battery, so my 
guess is that it came with only one battery, a 12V.

I believe the earlier models has twin 6Vs, and they converted over sometime in 
the early 70s.  Anybody got an exact date.  My '70 has dual battery boxes.
