Hello,

I am about to do the brakes on my 77B and figured I should ask the
knowledge of the list for recommendations on what to do and what to
watch out for.

I have wire wheels and the brakes have been working great, but the
travel of the pedal has gotten excessive and the driver's side pads are
so low that I am beginning to grind the rotor.

I have done many brake jobs on American and Japanese cars, but never a
car with wire wheels where I have to take apart the whole hub!!

I have purchased new pads and shoes and springs etc. from Vic Brit as
part of their brake kit for $70. I also bought new rotors for the front
brakes and I have new DOT 3 brake fluid.
I know some people suggest DOT 4 or silicone brake fluid but I think I
will stick with what the owner's manual calls for.

So, that said, what are some pitfalls to look out for, what should I
definitley do, what should I definitely not do?

Any and all advice is appreciated,
Erik.
